Cloudanix vs Sysdig.
Runtime depth, or graph-first CNAPP+?

Sysdig has the deepest container runtime story in the category — eBPF, Falco lineage, real-time threat detection inside running workloads. Cloudanix is a graph-first CNAPP+ where runtime is one input alongside posture, identity, code, JIT and DAM. This page is for buyers whose centre of gravity is identity, agentic AI, databases or multi-region compliance — not Linux runtime forensics.

The 30-second version

If you only read one section.

Pick Sysdig when
  • Your primary problem is container / Kubernetes runtime — you want eBPF-grade visibility into syscalls, file activity and network connections inside running workloads.
  • You already standardise on Falco as your detection-rule format and want the commercial vendor closest to that lineage.
  • You have a Linux-systems-engineering-heavy SOC that thinks in terms of runtime forensics first.
  • You're US-centric with US-bounded compliance scope.
  • You don't yet ship AI coding agents to production or have a database-tier compliance story driving the buy.
Pick Cloudanix when
  • You're shipping AI coding agents and need MCP-native JIT, an action firewall, and identity-stamping back to the human operator.
  • You want a JIT broker across humans, service accounts, CI/CD principals and AI agents — not just CIEM analysis at rest.
  • You want Database JIT and DAM as first-class products — live query observability, anomaly detection, data masking.
  • You need multi-region sovereignty — EU, India, Middle East — or CloudPrem (inside your VPC).
  • You want graph-backed CIEM and attack-path built into the same product, not bolted on.
  • You want code-to-cloud lineage on one graph — Code Security findings tied to runtime workloads and IAM identities.
Credit where it's due

Where Sysdig is genuinely strong.

Sysdig and the Falco project shaped the modern runtime-CNAPP category. Three places where it earns its position.

📡

eBPF runtime depth

Sysdig's eBPF instrumentation inside Linux workloads gives some of the deepest syscall, file-activity and network-activity visibility in the category. For runtime forensics inside a compromised container, that depth is real.

🛡️

Falco heritage

Sysdig open-sourced Falco, which became the CNCF-graduated standard for cloud-native runtime detection. The detection rule ecosystem and the Linux systems-engineering centre-of-gravity inside Sysdig is among the strongest in the category.

🏆

Mature SOC integration

Sysdig has been in market for over a decade with an established SOC integration footprint — Splunk, Elastic, SIEM partners, MSSP relationships. For a SOC already wired into that ecosystem, the integration depth is mature.

Now the other side

Where Cloudanix is the better pick.

01

MCP-native Agentic JIT & Coding Agent Firewall

Cloudanix exposes itself as an MCP server. Claude Code, Cursor, Kiro, Codex and Aider broker ephemeral credentials through Cloudanix; risky actions gate on human approval, destructive ones block at the policy layer, every action is identity-stamped to the human operator. Sysdig's centre of gravity is runtime forensics inside containers — the MCP-broker primitive for autonomous coding agents is not a current product.

02

JIT broker for humans, machines, agents

Sysdig CIEM does permission analysis — useful but at-rest. Cloudanix is a JIT broker: short-lived intent-scoped credentials minted at the moment of use, across cloud APIs, Kubernetes namespaces, databases and SaaS — for humans, service accounts, CI/CD principals, and AI agents.

03

Database JIT & live DAM together

Cloudanix Database JIT mints short-lived database credentials with optional data masking. Database Activity Monitoring provides live query observability with anomaly detection. Sysdig's centre of gravity is the runtime layer inside containers — the database tier (the SQL flowing into RDS / Cosmos / Cloud SQL) isn't the centre of the product.

04

Multi-region sovereignty & CloudPrem

Four independent regional control planes — US, EU (Frankfurt), India (Mumbai), Middle East — plus CloudPrem (inside your VPC, your KMS keys). Sysdig is broadly US/EU-centric on regional posture; India- and ME-resident control planes and in-customer-VPC deployment aren't products in the same way.

05

Code-to-cloud lineage on one graph

Cloudanix Code Security is in the same product as CSPM, CIEM, CWPP, CDR and JIT — and the graph joins repos to images to running pods to IAM identities to crown-jewel data resources. Sysdig has runtime depth, but the code-to-cloud lineage tying a SAST finding to a running workload to an attack-path is not the centre of the product.

06

Published pricing & standard contract

Cloudanix publishes pricing on the website with a standard contract you can read end-to-end. Sysdig has tiered pricing but with significant quote-driven enterprise selling — for procurement teams that need pricing transparency early, that's worth a conversation.

Common questions

What buyers ask us about Sysdig.

Is Cloudanix a Sysdig alternative?

For buyers whose centre of gravity is identity, agentic AI, databases or multi-region compliance — yes. Cloudanix is a graph-first CNAPP+ where runtime is one input alongside posture, identity, code, JIT and DAM. For buyers whose centre of gravity is Linux-runtime forensics inside containers and whose detection format is Falco-shaped, Sysdig is a stronger pure fit on that axis.

How does Cloudanix's runtime compare to Sysdig's eBPF?

Cloudanix's container/Kubernetes runtime protection covers drift detection, admission control and runtime threat detection — and is compatible with Falco-style rules. Sysdig's eBPF instrumentation is deeper, with a longer history and a larger Linux-systems-engineering team behind it. If runtime depth inside containers is your number-one selection criterion, Sysdig is hard to outclass. If runtime is one signal alongside identity, posture and the graph, Cloudanix's wider context matters more than deeper eBPF.

How does Cloudanix handle AI coding agents differently from Sysdig?

Cloudanix exposes itself as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. When Claude Code, Cursor, Kiro, Codex or Aider needs a cloud credential, the request goes through Cloudanix — short-lived intent-scoped credentials are brokered to the agent, risky actions can be gated on human approval, destructive ones block at the policy layer, every action is identity-stamped to the human operator. Sysdig's AI security posture today is runtime-detection-shaped (detecting AI-driven malware or anomalous container behaviour). The MCP-broker primitive for autonomous coding agents isn't a current product. See the Coding Agent Firewall →

What about identity and JIT — Sysdig has CIEM too?

Sysdig CIEM does permission analysis at rest — useful for identifying over-permissioned principals. Cloudanix is a JIT broker: short-lived intent-scoped credentials minted at the moment of use across cloud APIs, Kubernetes namespaces, databases and SaaS. The difference is what happens between "we found over-permission" and "the right access is granted to the right person for the right window." Sysdig stops at the analysis; Cloudanix ships the broker. See JIT →

What about Database security?

Cloudanix ships Database JIT (keyless, audited credentials with optional masking) and Database Activity Monitoring (live query observability with anomaly detection) as first-class products. Sysdig's centre of gravity is container runtime — the database tier (SQL flowing into RDS, Cosmos, Cloud SQL) isn't where the product is invested. For data-first regulated programs where the database IS the asset, Cloudanix is the closer fit. See DAM →

What about regional / sovereign deployment?

Cloudanix runs four independent regional control planes — US, EU (Frankfurt), India (Mumbai), Middle East — plus CloudPrem (inside your own VPC). Sysdig's regional footprint is broadly US/EU; India- and ME-resident control planes and in-customer-VPC deployment aren't products in the same way. For Indian financials under RBI / DPDPA, Saudi banks under SAMA, or any buyer with "data and control plane in our account" procurement requirements, that's the deciding factor.
