AWS and Cloudanix team co-authored this blog: Real-Time Threat and Anomaly Detection for Workloads on AWS
Insights · CISO operating view

Not another findings dashboard.
A cloud security operating picture.

Security leaders do not need a prettier table of Criticals. They need to answer: what changed, what matters, who owns it, and are we getting better? Cloudanix Insights turns posture, identity, runtime, code, access and data signals into board-ready views: crown-jewel exposure, attack-path movement, remediation aging, blast-radius reduction, and compliance drift.

The reporting problem

Most dashboards answer the wrong question.

A list of findings is an analyst input. Leadership needs an operating model.

01

Severity is not risk

A Critical on an isolated sandbox is not the same as a Critical on an internet-facing workload with an admin identity and access to customer data. Most dashboards flatten them.

02

Ownership is missing

Security can see the finding, but the cloud owner, application owner, compliance owner and business unit are spread across tags, CMDB, tickets and Slack folklore.

03

Progress is hard to prove

Boards ask whether risk is going down. Auditors ask whether controls are improving. A point-in-time findings table cannot show movement, aging, exception burn-down and control drift.

Insight views

The views leaders actually use.

01

Crown-jewel exposure

Which regulated data stores, payment systems, production databases and executive-critical apps are reachable from the internet, over-privileged identities, vulnerable workloads or risky AI-agent actions?

02

Remediation aging

Open findings grouped by age, business owner, severity, reachability and SLA state. The goal is not \"how many findings exist\" — it is \"which risk is aging past our tolerance?\"

03

Identity blast radius

Standing admin identities, high-risk service accounts, dormant keys, CI/CD roles and AI-agent principals ranked by what they could reach if compromised.

04

Compliance movement

Control health over time across SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, ISO, NIST and regional programs like DPDPA, RBI, SAMA and PDPL. Evidence links back to the resource, identity and event timeline.

05

Attack-path burn-down

Number of reachable paths to crown-jewel assets, which control broke the path, which owner closed it, and whether new paths reopened after deployment.

06

Coverage gaps

Accounts not connected, regions not monitored, workloads without runtime context, repos without code scanning, identities outside JIT. Insights includes the blind spots, not just the alerts.

Why it works

The insight is only as good as the graph below it.

🕸

One graph, one answer

Posture, identity, code, runtime, access and data signals read from the same graph — so leadership and analysts do not argue over which dashboard is right.

🧭

Business context attached

Ownership, environment, app, region, compliance scope and business unit are attached to every finding and every trend line.

📈

Movement over snapshots

Insights keeps the timeline: what changed, what was accepted, what aged, what reopened, what got better. That is what boards and auditors need.

What Our Users Are Saying

Customer Reviews

Cloudanix is trusted by security leaders worldwide to deliver proactive, reliable, and cutting-edge cloud security.

One day, I changed the password of a root account, and my CTO called me within less than a minute to confirm if I did so. I was not expecting a reaction this quick. He told me Cloudanix alerted him of this password change and that he wanted to confirm as it was a critical security notification. I couldn't believe it!

Cloudanix gave us the visibility we were missing. Being able to move from permanent access to a robust Just-In-Time (JIT) workflow has fundamentally changed our security posture without slowing down our engineering velocity.

We are excited to leverage Cloudanix's comprehensive multi-cloud DevSecOps solution to secure our production workloads on AWS. Cloudanix has demonstrated that it can solve many challenges that DevSecOps teams face while continually adding new features such as SOC2 compliance and drift detection.

Managing third-party partner access was once a major concern for our security posture. With Cloudanix JIT Cloud, we've effectively achieved zero third-party risk. We can now grant access confidently, knowing that it is temporary, audited, and automatically revoked, resulting in a 100% reduction in our privileged access exposure.

Implementing Cloudanix JIT internally allowed us to practice what we preach. By eliminating permanent access to our own clouds and databases, we've neutralized the risk of standing privileges, ensuring our own 'keys to the kingdom' are never left exposed.

The problem with permissions is a lot of times, the gaps are left open due to oversights from inside the organization itself. With Cloudanix's CIEM, we get a complete view of user permissions and access. This enables us to update the permissions, reducing the attack surface.

In the world of Fintech, trust is our currency. Cloudanix provided the frictionless visibility we needed to secure our EKS workloads across AWS, ensuring we stay audit-ready for SOC2 and GDPR without slowing down our engineering velocity.

Common questions

Insights, asked plainly.

Is Insights a separate analytics product?

No. Insights is part of the Cloudanix CNAPP+. It is the executive and management surface for the same graph used by attack path, CIEM, CDR, Code Security, JIT and compliance workflows.

How is this different from a SIEM dashboard?

A SIEM dashboard is usually event-first. Cloudanix Insights is cloud-graph-first: resource, identity, posture, code, runtime, data and compliance context are already joined. SIEMs are excellent for broad log investigation; Insights is optimised for cloud risk movement and ownership.

Can I show this to executives or the board?

Yes — that is the design target. The views are built around movement, exposure, ownership and risk reduction, not analyst-only details. You can still drill down to raw findings, but the top-level language is board- and audit-friendly.

How does Cloudanix know business ownership?

Multiple sources: cloud tags, Kubernetes labels, CMDB fields, Git repository owners, account / subscription hierarchy, IAM group ownership, and manual overrides where needed. The graph keeps provenance so you can tell whether ownership came from a tag, CMDB sync or human assignment.

Can Insights track accepted risk and exceptions?

Yes. Exceptions are first-class objects with owner, expiry, reason, scope, approval chain and evidence. Insights shows accepted-risk inventory, upcoming expirations, expired exceptions and whether an exception still matches the original scope.

Does Insights support regional compliance programs?

Yes. Besides common programs like SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, ISO and NIST, Cloudanix maps controls for regional programs such as DPDPA, RBI, IRDAI, SEBI, SAMA, PDPL and UAE FDPL where applicable.
