The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Cloud Services Adoption Framework sets mandatory principles and control measures that regulated entities (REs) in the Indian securities market must put in place before and during their adoption of cloud computing. It emphasizes governance, risk assessment, data localization, security controls, and clear cloud shared-responsibility. For REs building on AWS, Azure, or GCP, SEBI CSAF requires strong access governance, encryption, monitoring, and the ability to demonstrate control effectiveness to the regulator.
