What it actually does
Unconditional call to fb_deferred_io_cleanup() in drm_fbdev_dma_fb_destroy() when struct fb_info.fbdefio is NULL triggers __flush_work() on an invalid or random work_struct instead of a safe NULL path, manifesting as KASAN warnings or memory corruption during framebuffer teardown.

How to fix it
Update the Linux kernel to version 6.11.4 or later, or apply commit 5a4a8ea14c54c651ec532a480bd560d0c6e52f3d (and the prerequisite 5a498d4d06d6) from the stable git tree. Rebuild and reboot into the patched kernel; organizations managing many hosts should prioritize distribution updates that include this fix.
How to confirm the fix worked
