What it actually does
Recursive acquisition of the dev_replace.rwsem within btrfs_map_block leads to lockdep-detected deadlock when RAID stripe-tree is enabled during device replace or scrub operations.
Why it matters to the business
Btrfs filesystems using device replacement or scrubbing with RAID stripe-tree can experience kernel deadlocks causing system hangs or crashes, disrupting storage operations and availability on affected Linux kernels.
How an attack unfolds
An attacker with local access triggers btrfs device replace or scrub while RAID stripe-tree is active, causing the same task to re-acquire the rwsem inside btrfs_map_block and hit the recursive lock path resulting in deadlock.
How to fix it
Upgrade the Linux kernel to commit a2e99dcd7aafa9d474f7d9b0740b8f93c4e156c2 or later stable release containing the fix; avoid using device replace or scrub with RAID stripe-tree until patched.

Verify kernel git commit is a2e99dcd7aafa9d474f7d9b0740b8f93c4e156c2 or newer; re-run btrfs/011 fstest with MKFS_OPTIONS="-O rst" and confirm absence of recursive locking splat.
