Apply the kernel patch that unconditionally initializes the extent_status structure in ext4_es_find_extent_range; upgrade to a fixed kernel version containing the resolution for CVE-2024-43828. Given 5848 downstream dependents, prioritize patching in build and distribution pipelines.

Confirm the fix by inspecting the ext4_es_find_extent_range function for unconditional initialization of the es variable and re-running fstest generic/039 to verify absence of the loop.
