What it actually does

The media graph walk in media_pipeline_start follows all link types including non-data links such as MEDIA_LNK_FL_ANCILLARY_LINK, resulting in invalid pointer dereference and kernel crash instead of restricting traversal to MEDIA_LNK_FL_DATA_LINK links only.

Upgrade the Linux kernel to a version containing commit 788fd0f11e45ae8d3a8ebbd3452a6e83f92db376 or later; rebuild and reboot with the patched kernel. Apply the fix via distribution security updates when available.
