Upgrade Firefox to 117 or later, Firefox ESR to 102.15 or 115.2 or later, and Thunderbird to 102.15 or 115.2 or later.

Confirm installed versions meet or exceed the fixed releases listed above and verify that no older builds remain in use.

Typical attack path

1. Deliver malicious content via web page or email attachment
2. Victim opens the content in an affected browser or mail client
3. Memory corruption occurs during processing
4. Attacker chain completes to achieve arbitrary code execution

How to detect it

Review browser and mail client crash reports, audit logs for unexpected process creation or memory anomalies, and search endpoint telemetry for post-exploitation indicators after visits to suspicious sites.
