Upgrade immediately to Safari 16.2, iOS 16.2 / iPadOS 16.2, macOS Ventura 13.1, tvOS 16.2, watchOS 9.2 or iCloud for Windows 14.1; apply the equivalent fixed commit e1d720ee69755b7e74c41bbc8ba5af0a70d1fb5f in any downstream vim/vim builds that embed the affected component.

How to confirm the fix worked

Confirm browser versions match or exceed the listed fixed releases; inspect User-Agent strings and WebKit build identifiers in network or endpoint logs to verify exposure status.

1. Attacker prepares and hosts crafted HTML/JS payload targeting the WebKit logic check

Review web proxy, browser history, and endpoint process logs for visits to domains associated with the listed threat actor references; look for unexpected cross-origin data flows or WebKit crashes correlating with information exfiltration attempts.
